Jennifer Lopez: Accomplishments Galore and a Star Who Never Forgot Her Roots

Jennifer Lopez was born in 1969 in the Bronx, New York. Her parents are her mother Guadalupe, a kindergarten teacher and her father David,

a computer specialist who were both born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She has two sisters, Lynda and Leslie. Jennifer has two children with Marc Anthony, a boy named Max and a girl named Emme who are fraternal twins.

One does not accomplish many things in life without a lot of hard work. It was evident that a good work ethic was instilled in Jennifer at a young age. Proof of this is that while working a regular job she financed her singing and dancing lessons for herself from the age of nineteen. She did stints as a backup dancer for New Kids on the Block and Janet Jackson.

Films: Some notable movies that she appeared in were "My Family" with Jimmy Smits and Edward James Olmos, "Selena" about the Tejano pop singer, and one of her most acclaimed roles opposite George Clooney in "Out of Sight."

Jennifer has been one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood and the highest-paid Latin actress in Hollywood history. She has also starred in multiple #1 box office films including The Wedding Planner and Monster-In-Law. In 2007 she was ranked ninth on the Forbes list of "The 20 Richest Women in Entertainment"

Albums: She has sold an estimated 55 million records worldwide. One of my favorite albums is Como Ama Una Mujer a Spanish-language Album. Besides the album's title song, I also liked from the album "Por Arriesgarnos," "Tu," and "Amarte Es Todo." Also from her On the 6 album, the song "Talk About Us."

I have always felt that even though there are a lot of music genres that there are really only two types of music - good music and bad music.' I can always appreciate the recording if it has a beautiful melody, the singer has a great tone, and the music is orchestrated really well. Even though I do not understand Spanish, the Como Ama Una Mujer album has it all.

American Idol: Jennifer Lopez will be returning for Season 11 of American Idol. The announcement was made by the show's executive producer Nigel Lythgoe on Ryan Seacrest's morning show. The combination of Stephen Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, and Randy Jackson has proved to be a winning one for Season 10 both in terms of viewers and ratings.

Fashion: She introduced her exclusive Jennifer Lopez Lifestyle Collection at Kohl's Department stores featuring apparel, sleepwear, and accessories of purses, boots, and shoes. Her recent fragrance, Love and Glamour has had 17 successful launches taking in over $1 Billion combined.

One of Jennifer's endearing traits which is just as big as her accomplishments is that she has never forgotten her roots. When talking with her it's like talking to a friendly neighbor next door. It's not something that can be faked. Jennifer is real, honest and down to earth which makes for a charming person to be with.
